Global Peace And The Role Of The US.


When examining the world order, after the second world war there was a bi-polarized world system which was led by the US related West and  Soviet Union. But after the downfall of the Soviet Union, the US led West became the world power without any ease by the end of the twentieth century. Then again in the twenty-first century, we can see an emerging multi-polar world system. Still the US stands as the number one among world powers.


Maintaining global peace is a tough task, the UN is the main functional body and visible body for that. However, in world history it can be clearly identified how the US was involved in numerous occasions with the intention of maintaining peace. Some questioned the right which the US had to do so. Especially in the interferences like Iraq , Vietnam and Libya.




Actions that the US follows for Global peace.


Diplomacy and Foreign Aid : 

How the US used their diplomatic hand to de-escalate the Indo-Pakistan issue as well as the Thai-Cambordian issue.


Military Alliances and Security Assistance:

Ukraine-Russia can be identified as the textbook example for this. The US always supplies military aid and assistance to Ukraine to fight against Russia even though Ukraine forces fall back rapidly at the moment.


Encouraging Democracy and Human Rights:

The United States frequently promotes democratic principles and human rights, which are thought to be the cornerstones of lasting peace and stability. 


 Interventions by the Military:

US military actions in a number of nations, including Afghanistan and Iraq, have drawn criticism for causing instability, displacing people, and causing suffering.

The US has come under fire for its prior backing of authoritarian governments, which have the potential to impede the growth of democracy and intensify conflicts.
